BI Mengajar: An Event Collaboration of FEB and Bank Indonesia Purwokerto

BI Mengajar event was held by the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia Purwokerto in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics and Business UNSOED on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. This event started at 09.00 through a Zoom Meeting with the theme ” The Role of Bank Indonesia as a Central Bank in Economic and Financial Digitalization for Advanced Indonesia ”. In general, this activity aims to provide an understanding of the performance of Bank Indonesia as the Central Bank in order to support a sustainable economy in order to improve the welfare of the people in Indonesia.

Many participants were very enthusiastic about registering for this event. There were a total of 416 participants who were divided into two platforms, namely 326 participants via Zoom Meeting and 90 participants for YouTube live streaming. Participants consisted of lecturers, students and the general public. This event was also attended by Prof. Dr. Suliyanto, SE., MM as Dean of FEB Unsoed.
The BI Mengajar webinar was packaged differently, starting with the participants filling out a pre-test related to the profile of Bank Indonesia. The speaker at this event was Mr. Samsun Hadi as the Head of Representative of Bank Indonesia Purwokerto. He delivered material regarding various Bank Indonesia policies in its efforts to maintain the stability of the rupiah value as well as the digitalization of the economy which is increasingly being intensified amid the current pandemic. In addition, the impact of Covid-19 demands a significant acceleration of digital transformation.
The sharing session at the end of the material adds to the liveliness of the webinar atmosphere. The enthusiasm of the participants in asking questions to the speakers was quite large. Underlining the questions globally from the participants, namely regarding security in the digital transaction system and efforts to digitize the economy being able to reach all corners of the country. Mr. Samsun Hadi conveyed that security can be pursued by providing a password for each digital transaction medium and always being careful in using it so that it does not lose or change hands. Meanwhile, the equitable distribution of economic digitization is a challenge for Bank Indonesia and other economic players to be able to provide equal distribution of infrastructure to all corners of the country.
Bank Indonesia is optimistic that in 2025 the progress of economic digitization will be felt by more and more people, considering that it will take a long time to build a capable economic digitization ecosystem.

At the end of the event, a photo session was held with all participants with resource persons at the Zoom Meeting. In addition to e-certificates, Bank Indonesia also provided free facilities for webinar participants in the form of internet data package assistance of IDR 50,000.00 for attendees. The webinar ended with filling out a post-test on the google form page.
