Department of Accounting Holds a Project-Based Learning Workshop

Efforts to improve the quality of learning continue to be carried out by the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business, Jenderal Sudirman University. One of them is the holding of a Project Based Learning (PjBL) Workshop for Accounting Department lecturers. This workshop was held online on Tuesday 12 October 2021 by presenting Dr. Dwi Purnomo, STP., M.T. as a facilitator/resource person. He is the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Agricultural Industrial Technology, Padjadjaran University who is also an expert on creative learning in competency-based curriculum.

This workshop was opened by Yudha Aryo Sudibyo, M.Sc., Ph.D., Ak., CA., ACPA, as the Head of the Accounting Department, Faculty of Economics and Business Unsoed and moderated by Dr. Puji Lestari, M.Sc., Ak., CA. Through this PjBL Workshop, it is hoped that lecturers will be able to apply this innovative learning method in their teaching and learning process. Project-based learning is a learning method that uses problems as the first step in collecting and integrating new knowledge based on experience in real activities. With this method, students are expected to improve their life skills, especially in terms of responsibility, problem solving, self-regulation, communication, and creativity.

The event, which was held from 09.00 – 12.00 WIB, ran smoothly and the participants were also very enthusiastic about participating in the event. Especially when the resource person introduced the Miro platform as one of the tools for project-based learning to run effectively and efficiently. The participants even hoped that there would be special assistance that discussed using Miro as a virtual whiteboard tool that makes it easier for students to discuss online about the projects they are working on.
