Held a Financial Literacy Talk Show, “Financephoria” with the theme: “Improving Youth Financial Literacy,” On Friday, November 25, 2022, at the Seminar Room, Integrated Laboratory, 6th Floor FEB Unsoed. The speakers for this webinar are Rahmani Tri Retno Widowati, AVP of Bank Mandiri TBK Purwokerto, and Winti Hapsari, Head of Sub-Division of Consumer Education and Protection at OJK Purwokerto. The Financephoria event is also the 3rd Anniversary of the FEB Unsoed Investment Gallery. The event was opened by Yudha Aryo Sudibyo, SE, M.Sc, Ak, Ph.D., CA, as Deputy Dean 1 of FEB Unsoed.
Referring to the OJK survey, the level of financial literacy in Indonesia is still relatively low, at around 38% in 2021. It is hoped that with the Financephoria activity, students can gain knowledge and open their horizons in choosing financial instruments for saving and investing, so they can participate in supporting activities quality economy. Winti Hapsari, OJK Representative, explained the Financial Services Authority’s (OJK) role in regulating and supervising financial service activities in the Banking sector, Capital Market sector, and IKNB sector. , create a consumer complaint mechanism, and facilitate the settlement of complaints such as online lending and sharing forms of investment through applications.
The second speaker, Rahmani Tri Retno Widowati, AVP of Bank Mandiri TBK Purwokerto, explained that to achieve financial freedom and other financial goals, you must be able to plan finances. Increase knowledge about existing financial and investment products and self-discipline in managing personal finances, including having productive assets and avoiding consumptive purchases, simple lifestyle or controlling desires, buying what you need, not what you want, accumulating wealth while young, and learning to invest. On the occasion of the event, Bank Mandiri also handed out prizes for UNSOED students who had used Bank Mandiri accounts to pay Unsoed tuition.
