On Thursday, November 19, 2020, the Laboratory of Tourism Development and Creative Economy, Faculty of Economics and Business UNSOED held an Online Seminar with the topic “Concept of Village Tourism Development”. This event took place from 08.30 to 11.30. The speaker of this seminar was Budi Setiawan on behalf of the Development of Tourism Village of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia and FX. Setyo Wibowo who is an Academic in Tourism.
In their presentation, the two speakers discussed the concept of pilot tourism village development and tourism village management. According to FX Setyo Wibowo, there are three elements of tourism production, namely: attraction, amenities and accessibility. In addition, the two speakers agreed that tourism product packaging is an important element for product development and tourism packages in the current new normal era. Through good packaging, the village will be able to attract tourists to explore the village.
Besides the packaging factor, according to Budi Setiawan, what is no less important is the management of the tourism village. This management aspect will be closely related to the human resource capacity of the manager, so that the tourism village manager is required to be able to collect information, be creative, have the ability to communicate verbally, can interact using various media and be able to coordinate well.
After the presentation of the two speakers, the event was continued with a question and answer session and a closing session. The question and answer session was interactive because many participants were interested in the topic of tourism villages. In the closing session, each speakers gave a closing statement regarding the potential for future tourism village development.
