Public Lecture “Financial Statement Preparation in Global Setting”

In the application of international accounting standards, financial reporting uses the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The modern economy relies on cross-border transactions and the free flow of international capital. Due to this change in reporting standards, to increase student knowledge and knowledge regarding IFRS Standards, the Bachelor of Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Jenderal Soedirman University held an Accounting Public Lecture. With the theme Financial Statement Preparation in Global Setting on Friday, November 26, 2021, which will be held online using the Zoom Meetings application.

In this public lecture, the moderator was Novita Puspasari, SE., M.Sc., Ak., CA. with guest lecturer Dr. ILDIKÓ ORBÁN from the University of Debrecen, Hungary. She is Head of Accounting Department, Institute of Accounting and Finance, Economics and Business Faculty at University of Debrecen, Hungary.

This public lecture was opened with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Jenderal Sudirman University, Prof. Wiwiek Rabiyatul Adawiyah, Ph.D. This activity was attended by approximately 200 student participants from the Faculty of Economics and Business, both from D3, S1, Profession and Masters study programs.

In his presentation, the speakers explained about IFRS and its application in global business. The presentation of the material lasted for approximately 90 minutes then followed by a discussion session. In the discussion session, participants were very enthusiastic about asking materials related to the application of IFRS standards. The event was closed by giving certificates to the speakers.
