Webinar “Accounting Profession and its Challenges in the Era of Society 5.0” Opens the PIA HMJA series

On Saturday, September 18, 2021, the Accounting Student Association (HMJA) held a webinar with the theme “Accounting Profession and its Challenges in the Era of Society 5.0” as the opening of the 2021 Accounting Science Week (PIA) series of events. PIA is an annual HMJA event with student participants from various universities in Indonesia.

The event was opened with remarks from the Head of the Accounting Department, FEB UNSOED, Yudha Aryo Sudibyo, M. Si, Ph. D, and the Dean of FEB UNSOED, Prof. Wiwiek Rabiatul Adawiyyah, Ph.D. The speakers for this webinar are Novita Puspasari, M.Sc, Ak, CA who is a lecturer in the Accounting Department of FEB UNSOED and Yudho Febrian Pratomo, S. Ak who is an auditor of Price Waterhouse Cooper (PWC).

In the first session, Novita conveyed about the beginning of the development of the Society 5.0 concept in Japan, then explained its relevance to current accounting education. Meanwhile, the second speaker, Yudho, explained the challenges and opportunities faced by auditors in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and Society 5.0. The event closed with a question and answer session, door prizes and the announcement of the committee regarding the 2021 PIA competition which would take place later.
