On Saturday, October 30, 2021 PPAk FEB Unsoed in collaboration with the Indonesian Institute of Accountants-Education Accountants Compartment (IAI-KAPd) held a Webinar with the topic: “Navigating the Sustainable Accounting Practices in Indonesia and Japan”. The resource persons for this webinar are Frendy, Ph.D, CPA. He is Associate Professor, Nagoya University of Commerce and Business (NUCB). This webinar was moderated by a lecturer in the Accounting Department, FEB UNSOED, Dr. Poppy Dian Indira Kusuma, M. Si, Ak, CA.
The speaker started a discussion about the limitations of conventional accounting practices in supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2017, the accounting profession began to improve to develop sustainable accounting practices. In fact, there has been a demand for sustainable financial reporting on the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in 2020.
The event which was attended by around 150 participants discussed sustainable accounting practices with case studies in Japan and Indonesia. The event closed with a question and answer session and predictions about global trends in the next few years.
