MidYear National Conference and Call for Paper (MYC 2022) has been held by Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. This event was held in collaboration with Bank Indonesia and ISEI Purwokerto on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. This national seminar carries the theme “Rural Tourism and Creative Economics to Develop Sustainable Wellness” to provide an understanding of rural tourism and creative economy strategies to develop sustainable welfare.
MYC 2022 will take place from 09.00 – 12.00 WIB, which will be conducted online through the Zoom Meeting media. This event was attended by 125 participants consisting of academics, researchers, practitioners, and students interested in economics, management, and business. This event was hosted by Cut Misni Mulasiwi, S.Pd., M.Pd. This event began with the opening and singing of the anthem Indonesia Raya, then continued with remarks by Prof. Wiwiek Rabiatul Adawiyah, M.Sc., Ph.D., as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman.
Moderator at the MYC 2022 national seminar, Dr. Ade Irma Anggraeni, S.E., M.Si, as a lecturer at FEB Unsoed. This national seminar event presented two speakers. The first speaker is Mursidi, Deputy Head of Representative – KPWBI Purwokerto, and the second speaker is Prof. Dr. Suliyanto, S.E., M.M, a professor from FEB Unsoed.
The first session of delivering material was delivered by Mursidi, who raised a sub-topic on “Supporting Rural Tourism and Creative Economy in Economic Recovery Momentum.” In his presentation, he said that after the Covid-19 pandemic, the economic recovery in the First Quarter of 2022 had shown positive economic growth. In addition, the demand for tourism in Indonesia from foreign countries such as Singapore, the US, and China has also increased.
Furthermore, in the second session, the material was delivered by Prof. Dr. Suliyanto, S.E. M.Si. He said that the current developments caused many jobs to be extinct, including lecturers. He also said, “The lecturer sells his inspiration, not his teaching. If the teaching will be lost far with the existence of Google.”
The next series of events in MYC 2022 is the Call for Paper which will be held from 13.00 – 16.00 WIB through the Zoom Meeting media. The presentation of this article was attended by 110 participants from various universities and various fields of science such as accounting, development economics, financial management, marketing management, HR management, and strategic management. At the end of the MYC 2022, various nominations were announced, such as Best Paper, Best Presenter, and Best Participants. (By Nera)
