Curriculum Workshop for Management Science Master’s Program was held by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Jenderal Soedirma, in collaboration with IAEI and ISEI Purwokerto, on Thursday, November 10, 2022. The purpose of this workshop is to provide new views on the Management Science Master’s Program through technological developments and the needs of stakeholders.

The Curriculum Workshop, which started at 08.30, was conducted offline at the Java Heritage Hotel, Purwokerto, and was attended by 40 participants consisting of students, alums, users, lecturers of the Master of Management Science Study Program, and the vice dean for academics. This event began with the opening and singing of the Indonesia Raya anthem, then continued with remarks and opening remarks by Yudha Aryo Sudibyo, SE, M.Sc, Ak, Ph.D., CA as Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman.

This workshop is divided into two sessions: Focus Group Discussion (FGD) moderated by Dr. Intan Shaferi, S.E, M.Si, and material presentation by Prof. Nurul Indarti, Sivilokonom., Cand. Merc., Ph.D. This FGD presented two speakers. The first speaker is Mr. Mustofa Adi, an alumnus user who currently serves as the Head of the BRI Bank KC Purwokerto Branch. The second is Mr. Atabik Yusuf, an alumnus of the Master of Management Science Study Program.

In his presentation, Mr. Mustofa Adi said that currently, graduates need not only hard skills but also soft skills. Some of the soft skill competencies needed include:

  • Integrity,
  • Professionality,
  • Ability to serve others,
  • Achievement drive,
  • Ability to think analytically and conceptually,
  • Leadership,
  • Able to follow cultural and digital transformation

Furthermore, the response was given by Mr. Atabik Yusuf as an alumnus. He said that the knowledge provided by the lecturer in the Master’s Program in Management Science was very useful in the world of work. For example, the science of organizational behavior. The FGD session then ended with a discussion with the participants.

The next series of events is the presentation of material by Prof. Nurul Indarti, Sivilokonom., Cand. Merc., Ph.D. She is the Head of the Management Department of FEB UGM. In her presentation, she gave the latest issues regarding the management education environment, such as globalization/internationalization, technological developments, stakeholder demands, and a curriculum based on independent learning. She also provides a new perspective on the model and design of curriculum for management education. This workshop is expected to make the Master’s Program in Management Science FEB UNSOED more advanced and able to keep up with technological developments and the needs of stakeholders.
